Why the Hell is College So Hard?
Instead of studying for my upcoming Biology test, I have
decided to take a break and blog, or venture outside of my constantly stressed
state into a more pleasant, though not lively realm: the Internets. I am a bit
fatigued from placing my endless Chemistry II questions onto the Google search
bar in hopes of finding an answer that does not require me to purchase a Chegg
subscription (though it is not a bad idea). In short, college has made me very
familiar with stress, and so I leave the cave.
There comes a time in every student’s life when they realize
that what may have looked easy from the beginning is starting to become
impossible to accomplish. In the event where you feel like you’re ready to give
up, I would advise you to tread along. The future is what we make it, so if you
stop trying, what future are you building for yourself? Hopelessness and sorrow
are both learned traits, which means you may have more control over your
outcome than you expect.
Here are some of my own personal tips from my college
experience.
Tips for College:
- Buy billions of pens, and ample amounts of paper.
- Do not cram the night before.
- Do not distract yourself from learning.
- Always ask questions.
- If studying is boring by yourself, find a study group.
- FIND A STUDY GROUP.
- Always review your notes after class. (You forget fresh information only after a few hours.)
- Take naps religiously. (Even if you have a test the day before, please make sure you get some sleep; at least six hours.)
- Do not plan ahead for no more than 2-3 days. (Always prepare for a change in plans.)
- Take some days off of work.
- SLEEP.
- EAT.
- DRINK TONS OF WATER.
- Make yourself feel pretty.
- Read some fun books.
- Watch Netflix (Not while studying.)
- Cool Netflix shows to watch.

- Take it a step at a time.
- Do not call yourself stupid.
- Do not give up.

…. And I am off towards the glorious Chem. lab.
